THINGS TO KNOW

We love sharing our lives with intelligent, free thinking, self directed standard schnauzers. But these are not the dogs for everyone. A sense of humor is mandatory if you want to share your life with "the dog with the human brain."

This breed is known for energetic and highly active dogs, without enough physical and mental work they will invent things to do. They are instinctive guard dogs, most schnauzers do not greet strangers with wagging tails but with wariness, caution, and perhaps growls. This is also a breed that can require grooming as often as every 4 to 6 weeks.

When you buy a Uhlan schnauzer you will sign a contract indicating you will not use shock training (fences or collars), and that you agree to attend a positive training class with your new family member. We feel it is so important to establish a relationship based on trust and positive reinforcement, not to mention a great opportunity for socialization.

We carefully match families to puppies based on what you are looking for as well as what we see based on the genetics of the litter as well as the temperament and performance testing we do.

We do not ship puppies, but you are welcome and encouraged to come by and meet us and the dogs.
